Bhoomi Mud Mask

$20.00
Limited Availability

“Of Earth we are made, to Earth we belong”

Bhoomi mud mask is a delicate blend of Multani Mitti (Fuller’s Earth) and French Pink Clay, that makes it look like a dream in the frosted bottle.

The Ritual:

Set a positive intention.

In a small bowl, mix a teaspoon (or more) of the dry clay powder with water and make a smooth paste. Apply the paste in a thin layer on your face and décolleté. Rinse when the mask hardens a little (it takes about 15-20 mins approximately). Do not leave a mud mask for longer times on the skin.

The clay mask is best used once a week. It is suitable for all kinds of skin because of it’s gentle properties. Avoid using it if you have extremely dry skin that is healing. Comes in a lovely 1oz frosted glass bottle with a cork lid.

The history:

Mud masks have been an age old tradition in several ancient civilizations of India, Egypt, Roman and the Greek. In Ayurveda, clay masks have been used to treat several topical skin ailments and to draw out impurities. Cleopatra is famous for using clay mask on her face and body to draw out impurities and later Romans and Greeks made clay a staple ingredient in their bath houses.

The science:

Clay uses moisture and oils to bind and harden. When we apply a mud or clay mask, the mask draws out the oils and impurities that have been lodged into the skin and improves the texture and clarity of the skin.

Ingredients:

This mask is a pure blend of only 2 ingredients, the Fuller’s earth sourced from India and French Pink Clay sourced from the South of France.

The Benefits:

Fuller’s Earth : A common and staple household beauty ingredient in India for thousands of years, it is composed of minerals such as magnesium, aluminum, iron, and silica, which are all very absorbent. This absorbency is the reason fuller's earth is so good for extracting dirt and oils from the skin.

French Clay: French Pink Clay is one of the mildest forms of clay among all other forms. Most pink clays are made by mixing white and red clays to create the look of a pink clay. However, a true French pink clay is made of montmorillonite clay, also known as bentonite clay. This clay is pink from the moment they harvest it from the earth and does not need to be mixed to achieve this beautiful pink color. Pink montmorillonite clay is made up of a high compound of volcanic ash from an inactive volcano in the south of France. This clay contains the highest levels of boron, along with having an abundance of minerals, including calcium, magnesium, silica, sodium, copper, iron, and potassium. This particular combo of minerals is what makes this clay actually pink.
