Earth Folk Apothecary is a homage to my maternal grandparents who were farmers and the original Earth Folk in my life. my name is sri and I make all the products for the mind, body and the spirit using hundreds of years old heirloom recipes of my ancestors coupled with the wisdom of my experiences and modern day science. i/we only use unaltered plant and earth matter sourced from villages of India or from companies that are committed to fair trade and sustainable practices and occasional botanical harvests from my grandma’s spectacular garden.
I consider this an apothecary of my ancestors and I merely a vessel collecting the wisdom from the past and pouring it into the future to keep the old ways flowing. i believe in a symbiotic relationship between earth and all of it’s folk. that is the only way to live a nourishing life.
I love learning about ancient rituals and unearthing the science behind them. i am self taught and learn from observing what my ancestors did and mostly wondering “why”. when i am not working or studying plants in my apotheca, you can find me sitting and contemplating about philosophy of life, reading about Ayurveda and ancient Indian scriptures, blending and drinking copious amounts of herbal and medicinal teas, researching about random novelties of life, making our little cottage cozy, creating art in some form or ambling in the woods in good company or alone with my thoughts. i am happy to see you here and hope you will stick around :)
